中学校での英語教育について
今回は日本の英語教育の核となっている『中学校での英語』についてです。
英語で基礎となるのは中学校での英語だという事は、よく言われます。
中学校で出てくる英語さえしっかりとマスターしてさえいれば、会話にも困ることはないと思います。
でも英語嫌いの子どもたちが増えるのも、この中学英語の時期です。
中学校の英語の成績如何で、その人の一生の英語との関わり方を決めると言ってもいいかもしれません。
大人になってから、もう一度英語をやってみようと思い、人が必ず思うのは「中学時代にもっと英語を勉強しておけばよかった」という事ではないでしょうか。
もちろん私もその一人でした(^^ゞ
また実際に、「やりなおしの英語」を勉強する場合、中学英語のやり直しになる場合が多いと思います。
中学英語は、時勢や現在完了、関係代名詞など、英語の基礎の文法などはほとんど網羅されています。
あとはそれを使いこなしさえすれば、何も恐れることはないのですが、英語嫌いの子どもを作ってしまうのも中学英語の段階です。
この大事な中学英語をもっと定着させるためにも、小学校の正規の教科に早く英語を、と思います。
小学校のうちに少しでも英語に触れていれば、中学英語の大事な基礎がわからなくなってしまう子ども、英語嫌いの子どもが少しでも減らせるのではないでしょうか。
