英語学習のシャドーイングについて
今回は上手な英語学習法として「シャドーイング」について少し書いてみようと思います。
皆さんは「シャドーイング」という方法をご存知でしたでしょうか？
シャドーイングとは、英語学習法の一つで聞き取った英語を聞いたまま影のように追いかけて声に出して言ってみる学習法で、同時通訳者の学習法として広く浸透しているものです。
シャドーイングは始めてすぐにスラスラとできるものではありません。
出来なくてもガッカリしないでくださいね(^^ゞ
集中力と根気を必要とする学習法であるため途中で挫折する学習者も多いのですが、続けることで着実に英語力をアップさせることができる学習法であると言われています。
シャドーイングをすることでリズムや発音、イントネーション、文の区切りなどが自然と身につくようになります。
また、日本人によく見られる後ろから訳して理解するという癖が抜け、英語が耳に入った順でそのまま理解できるようになります。
シャドーイングは英語学習者にとっては試す価値のある学習法の一つと言えるでしょう。
しかし、シャドーイングをしていれば英語力が必ず上がるというわけではありません。
何度聞いても聞き取れない内容や、意味がまったく掴めない内容のものを繰り返し聞いてシャドーイングしても効果は出にくいでしょう。
シャドーイングをするときは原稿があるものを使用しましょう。
そうすれば聞き取れなかったり、聞きとることはできたけれども意味がわからなかったという場合にきちんと確認することができ、新しい言葉を身につけていくことができます。
特に初心者の場合、原稿選びは重要です。
原稿を選ぶときは内容がほぼ理解できるレベルのものを選ぶようにしましょう。
また、シャドーイングは集中力を要するので内容があまり長くないものを選びましょう。
そしてシャドーイングすることが難しい場合は、最初は原稿を見ながら声を出して読み、音に慣れるようにしましょう。それから原稿を伏せてシャドーイングをするようにするといいでしょう。
スポーツでも勉学でも、まず出来る人の真似をする！
これって結構重要な学習法だと思いますよ♪
